SPEAKER INFORMATION AND EXPECTATIONS

Thank you for agreeing to speak at our upcoming Leadership Jersey event. We are excited to have you join us and contribute to our mission of fostering thought leadership and community engagement in the Channel Islands. This page provides essential information to help you prepare and understand what to expect. 

 

Purpose and Benefits 

Our events are not-for-profit, focusing on elevating the profile of our speakers while benefiting the community. By speaking at our event, you will: 

  • Improving leadership in Jersey through your presentation we hope that will get a step closer to getting leadership in Jersey to the standard it needs to be to deal with all the challenges and take advantage of all the opportunities. 

  • Raise Your Profile: Gain visibility as a thought leader in the Channel Islands. 

  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with local businesses and influential figures, potentially opening doors for future speaking engagements or collaborations. 

  • Community Impact: Choose a local charity to support, or allow us to help you select a charity that has not yet been supported. 
     

Event Sponsorship and Promotion 

The events are supported by sponsorships that cover less than half of the advertising costs. Here is how we promote and support you as a speaker: 

  • Advertising: We promote the event by highlighting you as a speaker in the local newspaper and online platforms. 

  • Media Coverage: Your session will be featured with photos and a write-up in the Jersey Evening Post. 
     

Financial Support 

While our events are not-for-profit, we understand the importance of supporting our off-island speakers. Therefore, we offer: 

  • Expense Contribution: A total of up to £300 to assist with hotel, travel, and other expenses related to your participation. 

 

Expectations and Responsibilities 

As a speaker, we ask you to keep in mind the following: 

  • Pro Bono Engagement: Your participation is on a voluntary basis, without a speaking fee. 

  • Charity Selection: Choose a local charity close to your heart, or we can assist you in selecting a charity that has not yet been supported. 

  • Promotion: We will actively promote your involvement, but we also encourage you to share the event within your network to maximise reach and impact. 

  • Event Details: Share information about you and your event with us at least two months beforehand to allow for proper promotion. 

  • Presentation Slides: Provide your slides at least a week before the event to ensure smooth technical preparation.
