Carol is an HR professional with 24 years experience in the HR and Education field. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is a visiting lecturer at Highlands College. On returning home to Jersey, she took on a HR generalist role within the States before moving into the Financial Services sector, where she has worked for 12 years.

Sir Peter was the chief of the British Army from 2010 to 2014. His early service in the Royal Engineers took him to Rhodesia, Germany, Belize and Hong Kong. Subsequently he served on operations in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. After a spell in the equipment procurement world he set up 16 Air Assault Brigade in 1999 to develop concepts for employing the Apache helicopter, the Army’s most potent weapon system. As commander 1st Armoured Division in 2003 Peter was responsible for the stabilization of Basra after the fall of Saddam Hussein. Latterly he was director of operations in the Ministry of Defence, responsible to the Chiefs of Staff and Ministers for UK operations worldwide. As Chief of the General Staff from 2010-2014 he led Army 2020, the reduction and redesign of the Army following the Cameron defence cuts.

In addition to being a successful author of five books, her TED Talks have been viewed by over nine million people and in 2015 TED published her book Beyond Measure: The Big Impact of Small Changes.

Jean Oelwang is the President and Trustee for Virgin Unite and Senior Partner at the B Team. In 2003, Jean left her post as joint CEO of Virgin Mobile Australia to begin working with Richard Branson and the Virgin staff from around the world to create Virgin Unite.

Over the last 12 years, Jean has worked with partners to create new approaches to social and environmental issues, such as the Branson Centres of Entrepreneurship and a global platform to support budding entrepreneurs. She has helped incubate a number of global leadership initiatives such as The Elders, the Carbon War Room, The B Team and Ocean Unite. Suzanne began working for her local council, Belfast City, straight out of university in 1988. At that time, she was one of only a few women working in quite an operational environment which helped her develop resilience and resolve.
She later moved across local government, developing expertise in regeneration, capital programmes, economic development, health protection and customer services.
In her seven and a half years as chief executive of Belfast Council, she was the policy adviser to eight diverse political parties and reshaped the organisation and its capability to deliver against a 25-year plan, growing jobs, investment in infrastructure and community assets, putting the city on an international stage and addressing some glaring inequalities.
With a fundamental belief in the need for passionate and motivated people and teams to deliver, Suzanne has always sought out and developed talent, involved people in exciting projects making sure that they feel valued for what they do.

Wendy is a Medical Doctor who has worked in the areas of equity, transformation, diversity and inclusion since 1999. Her career path turned from medicine to diversity and inclusion after she had served three years as a Commissioner on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of South Africa – a position to which she was appointed by then President Nelson Mandela. Her path to the TRC began in 1985 when, while working at the District Surgeon’s Office in Port Elizabeth, she became the first and only doctor in government employment to reveal evidence of police torture of political detainees, when she successfully sought a Supreme Court interdict against the police to stop them from assaulting and torturing political detainees. Subsequent to this she remained active in health and human rights issues, particularly in respect of the rights of political detainees. Wendy is the Group Head of Inclusion for Standard Bank Group and is responsible for three functions, namely Diversity and Inclusion, Employee Wellbeing, and Corporate Social Investment.

Charles has been a lifelong campaigner for positive environmental action. He made his name as an author and environmental journalist, writing principally for The Sunday Times and The Daily Telegraph, for which he was environment editor for 22 years. His book, The End of The Line, and the award-winning documentary film that it inspired, highlighted overfishing as a global problem.
He has been a regular visitor to Jersey as executive director of the Blue Marine Foundation for the past couple of years after the organisation was asked to advise the Government of Jersey on the creation of a marine park to protect Island waters.

Steve Borthwick (left) is the head coach of Leicester Tigers, the reigning champions of England after winning the Gallagher Premiership final in June.
Mr Borthwick had a transformative effect on the Tigers after being appointed in February 2020, at which point the club were struggling in the lower reaches of the Premiership table.
Now the former England rugby union international is to share some insights into the methods he has used since starting the transition from playing to coaching in 2012.

Mr Sinfield made more than 500 appearances for Leeds Rhinos across an 18-year playing career in rugby league, winning 40 international caps for England and Great Britain during that time. After retiring in 2016, he became rugby director of the Rugby Football League for two years prior to returning to the Rhinos in 2018, working as director of rugby until 2021.
Mr Sinfield was awarded an OBE for services to rugby league and charitable fundraising in 2021, having raised more than £3 million through a series of gruelling challenges to support research into Motor Neurone Disease. These efforts came after his friend and former Rhinos' team-mate Rob Burrow was diagnosed with MND.
