SUZANNE WILEY
CEO @
GOVERNMENT OF JERSEY

SUZANNE began working for her local council, Belfast City, straight out of university in 1988.  At that time, she was one of only a few women working in quite an operational environment which helped her develop resilience and resolve.

She later moved across local government, developing expertise in regeneration, capital programmes, economic development, health protection and customer services.

In her seven and a half years as chief executive of Belfast Council, she was the policy adviser to eight diverse political parties and reshaped the organisation and its capability to deliver against a 25-year plan, growing jobs, investment in infrastructure and community assets, putting the city on an international stage and addressing some glaring inequalities.

With a fundamental belief in the need for passionate and motivated people and teams to deliver, Suzanne has always sought out and developed talent, involved people in exciting projects making sure that they feel valued for what they do.
